Iced Tea Mocktail with Rooibos, Gingerale and Orange.

Where the summer holidays have really come to an end for part of the Netherlands and the first schools have started again. We still have a week’s holiday here in the East of the country before the children go to school again and we get back to work. But for now we will enjoy this lovely sunny day. I have just been able to prepare our Achterhoek tea blends for a local B&B and I will deliver them soon. Then I will enjoy the nice weather with my family. To stay in the tea atmosphere, we are serving a delicious Rooibos Gingerale cocktail this afternoon. We obviously don’t want to withhold the recipe from you, so I would say get everything ready, make this delicious mocktail and hold on to that summer feeling for a while!

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 350 ml of water
  • 1 large teaspoon of loose rooibos tea in a bag
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 18 ice cubes
  • 1 orange
  • 500 ml Ginger ale 0% sugar
  • And of course cocktail glasses

And this is how you make it;

Bring the water to the boil and hang the rooibos tea bag in it, add the cinnamon sticks and let it sit for 3 minutes. Then remove the tea bag. Allow the mixture to cool quickly by stirring in 10 ice cubes (per 4 people).

While everything is cooling further, cut 1 thin slice of the orange per person. Divide the remaining ice cubes among the ready cocktail glasses (2 ice cubes per glass), add the cooled tea with the cinnamon sticks, the orange slices and gingerale and stir.

An evening without alcohol is no problem and you can enjoy it!
